There are two marinas on the lake who rent boats, jet skis, kayaks and other outdoor accessories. Enjoy year-round fishing.

• Experience sleeping in real tepees. These are exact replicas of the ones seen in Dances With Wolves.
  
• Explore the state parks, small towns, and antique shops on the way to the cabin.
  
• Tour the town of Sisters located just 52 miles from Detroit. This town has plenty of shopping from hand made Native American creations for the collector to family stores. There are  many downtown shops and cafes and general interest stores.
  
• Visit the Detroit Ranger and Forestry stations. They have great hiking tips - amateur to advanced. There are hidden lakes and beautiful trails to be explored. Breitonbush Hot springs is only 10 miles away.
  
• Annual events: The Detroit Lake Fishing Derby in May kicks off the beginning of summer. June is the month for the famous Sisters rodeo. And of course there is the spectacular 4th of July fireworks over the lake.
